About the Network Tools
NKable's network tools are three browser-based parsers: a URL parser that splits any address into scheme, host, path and parameters, a user agent parser that identifies browsers and bots, and a query string builder.
These network tools work on input you supply rather than reaching out across the network. The URL parser splits an address into scheme, host, port, path, query parameters and fragment. The user agent parser turns a user-agent string into a browser, engine, operating system and device, and flags known crawlers. The query string builder assembles and decodes parameter lists, including repeated keys and percent-encoding.
All three run entirely in your browser, so whatever you paste — a URL with a session token in it, a user agent out of your own logs — stays on your machine.
There is no DNS lookup, WHOIS, ping or port scanner here, and that is deliberate. A web page has no way to perform any of them: no DNS API, no raw socket access, no ICMP. Pages that claim otherwise are either proxying through a server or inventing the answer. For live diagnostics use dig or nslookup for DNS, whois for registration data, curl -I for headers and status codes, and nmap for ports on hosts you administer.
How to use the Network Tools
- Pick a parser. Choose the URL, user agent or query string tool.
- Paste your input. Drop in the address, user-agent string or parameter list.
- Read the breakdown. Each component is labelled and explained.
- Copy what you need. Take individual fields or the rebuilt string.
Network Tools features
- URL parser covering every component and query parameter
- User agent parser with browser, OS and bot identification
- Query string builder and decoder
- Everything runs client-side — input is never transmitted
- No account or signup
- Pointers to the right command-line tool for live checks
Frequently asked questions
Can I look up DNS records or WHOIS data here?
No. A browser cannot make DNS or WHOIS queries at all. Use dig, nslookup or whois from a terminal instead.
Does my input leave my browser?
No. All three parsers run locally, so URLs containing tokens or session IDs are never transmitted.
What does the URL parser show?
Scheme, host, port, path, each query parameter separately, and the fragment — plus decoding of percent-encoded values.
Can the user agent parser spot bots?
Yes. It identifies known crawlers and search engine agents alongside ordinary browser and OS detection.
Are these free?
Yes, with no account or signup.
