Terms of Service

Last updated

Plain terms for a free set of tools. The short version: use them for anything lawful, your content stays yours, check the output before you rely on it, and we cannot promise the service will always be available.

1. Agreement

By using NKable you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.

2. What NKable is

NKable is a collection of 231 free online utilities — converters, calculators, formatters, PDF tools, design helpers and SEO analysers. Most run entirely in your browser; some send data to our server, and those pages say so.

Every tool is free. There is no paid tier for the tools, no subscription and no trial. If you encounter a tool page suggesting otherwise, it is a mistake — please tell us so we can fix it.

NKable also sells two things, and they are the only paid parts of the site: live online courses and project and consulting work. Section 12 covers courses; project work is governed by the individual agreement for that engagement rather than by this page.

An account is optional. It exists so you can keep a list of files you have processed with the server-side tools. Every tool works without one, and no account is needed to enquire about a course or a project.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the tools to process material you have no right to process, including copyrighted material you do not own or license;
  • upload malware, or content that is unlawful, harassing, or sexually exploitative of children;
  • attempt to break, overload or circumvent the service — including automated scraping of the tools, bypassing rate limits, or probing for vulnerabilities without permission;
  • use the SEO audit or speed test against a site you neither own nor have permission to test;
  • resell or rebrand the service as your own.

Automated access at reasonable volume for legitimate purposes is fine. If you need bulk or programmatic access, ask us rather than hammering the endpoints.

We may rate-limit or block access that we reasonably believe breaches these rules or threatens the availability of the service for others.

4. Your content stays yours

You keep all rights in the files, text and URLs you put into NKable. We claim no licence over them beyond what is technically required to perform the operation you asked for, and we do not use your content to train models, build datasets, or for any purpose other than returning your result.

For most tools this is moot, because your content never reaches us at all. For the server-side tools, the privacy policy sets out exactly what is stored and for how long.

You are responsible for keeping your own copy of anything important. Uploaded files are deleted a few minutes after processing and are not recoverable.

5. Accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity carried out under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.

You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 3.

6. Availability and changes

NKable is provided free and without any guarantee of uptime. We may add, change, retire or remove tools without notice — tools have been retired before, and will be again, when they cannot be made to work honestly.

Where a tool is retired we try to leave a redirect or an explanation rather than a dead link, but we cannot promise any particular tool will still exist tomorrow. Do not build a critical process on the continued existence of a specific page.

7. Accuracy of results

The tools are offered in good faith and tested, but their output is not professional advice and may contain errors. In particular:

  • Financial and health calculators — loan, tax, mortgage, BMI and similar tools are estimates using simplified models. They are not financial, tax, legal or medical advice.
  • Converters — check important output before relying on it. Conversion between rich formats is lossy by nature.
  • SEO and speed reports — heuristics and a snapshot in time, not a guarantee of how any search engine will treat a page.

Verify anything that matters. If you find a tool giving wrong results, please report it — those reports are acted on.

8. Our intellectual property

The NKable name, the site design, and the code behind the tools belong to us or our licensors. You may use the tools freely for their intended purpose; you may not copy the site wholesale, or present it as your own service.

9. Third-party links

Some pages link to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.

10. Disclaimer and liability

NKable is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from your use of the site.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all the statutory rights your local law gives you, and nothing here overrides them.

11. Ending access

You may stop using NKable at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached, or if we discontinue the service. Sections 4, 8 and 10 survive the end of your use.

12. Course enrolment

What you are buying. A place in a live online cohort for the stated duration, the teaching hours listed on that course’s page, the project material, and a certificate of completion if you finish. Fees, durations and contents are as published on the course page at the time you enrol.

The certificate. Certificates are issued by NKable and confirm completion of the course and its projects. They certify completion, not proficiency. They are not a degree, a diploma, or a university qualification.

No university affiliation. The teacher’s own qualifications are stated accurately on the portfolio page and include study at named universities. NKable is not affiliated with, endorsed by, accredited by, or acting on behalf of any university or educational authority, and no course, certificate or material carries any university’s recognition.

No outcome guarantee. Courses include career support — reviews, interview practice and freelancing guidance, itemised on each course page. They do not include job placement, hiring partners, salary outcomes or guaranteed freelance clients, and no such promise made anywhere else would be valid.

Recordings and materials. Session recordings and course materials are provided for your own learning. Re-publishing, reselling or sharing them outside the cohort is not permitted and is grounds for removal under the refund policy. Work you produce during the course is yours, including anything you build for the projects.

Conduct. Cohorts are small and shared. Harassment, persistent disruption or publishing other participants’ work or details without consent can end a place, with a pro-rata refund.

Changes to a batch. Session times may move with notice. If a batch is cancelled or postponed by us, you choose between a full refund and a place in the next one.

Fees and refunds. Nothing is charged from this website. Fees are agreed and paid separately after an enquiry. Cancellation and refund terms are set out in full in the refund and cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.
