WordPress Support & Recovery
Slow, broken, hacked or stuck — fixed, and hardened so it stays fixed.
WordPress work that goes past plugin roulette: speed optimisation at the cause, security hardening, malware cleanup and recovery, plugin and theme conflicts, PHP upgrades, WooCommerce faults and migrations. Every job ends with a report of what was actually wrong.
Typical timeline: Urgent fixes same or next day; optimisation and migrations 3–10 days
When this is the right call
Problems this solves
In the words people actually use when they get in touch, rather than in the words the technology uses.
- “The site takes eight seconds to load and three caching plugins have not helped”
- “Google flagged it as compromised, or the host suspended it”
- “A plugin update took the site down and the backup is a week old”
- “It is on an unsupported PHP version and nobody wants to touch it”
- “Checkout fails for some customers and nobody can reproduce it”
Deliverables
What you get
- The specific problem fixed, with the cause named
- A hardening pass: users, permissions, updates, login protection, backups that restore
- A performance report with before-and-after numbers where speed was the job
- For malware: cleanup, entry-point identification, and reinjection prevention
- A short written record of what was wrong and what changed
Approach
How it is built
- Cause over symptom — a caching plugin over a slow query hides the problem until traffic doubles
- Backups verified by restoring them, because an untested backup is a hope
- Malware work includes finding the entry point; cleaning without that guarantees a repeat
- Staging for anything risky, where the hosting allows it
Process
How it runs
- 1
Triage
What is broken, how urgent, and what is at risk right now.
- 2
Backup first
Nothing is touched until there is a restorable copy.
- 3
Diagnose
Find the cause. Disabling plugins until it works is not a diagnosis.
- 4
Fix and harden
The problem, then the conditions that allowed it.
- 5
Report
What it was, what changed, what to watch for.
What it costs
Scope and price agreed on a short call — no obligation, and you get a written figure before anything starts.
Get a figureWhat I need from you
- WordPress admin access
- Hosting or cPanel access, and SFTP where needed
- Domain and DNS access for migrations
- For a hack: when you first noticed, and what changed shortly before
Not included
- Hosting fees, premium plugin or theme licences
- Content writing or design work
- A guarantee against future compromise — hardening reduces risk, it does not eliminate it
- Support for nulled or pirated plugins, which are a common cause of the compromise in the first place
WordPress Support & Recovery — questions people ask
My site is hacked. How fast can you start?
Usually same day. Message on WhatsApp with the URL and what you are seeing. First step is a backup and containment, before any cleanup.
Can you make it faster without breaking it?
Yes, and the order matters: measure, find the actual cause, fix that, then cache. Caching first is why most speed work stops improving after the first week.
Do you do ongoing maintenance?
Yes — updates, backups, uptime and security monitoring on a monthly retainer. Discussed after the first job, once we both know what the site needs.
Will you migrate our site to a new host?
Yes, with a staging verification and a DNS cutover planned around your traffic.
Elementor, Gutenberg, WooCommerce?
All fine. WooCommerce checkout faults in particular need care, and are worth reporting with exact steps.
What if the fix turns out to be bigger than expected?
You hear that before the work continues, not on the invoice. Sometimes the honest answer is that a rebuild costs less than the repairs.
