Table Generator

Generate tables in multiple formats

About the Table Generator

This table generator lets you build a table visually and export it as HTML, Markdown, CSV or JSON. It removes the tedious part of hand-writing table markup, where one misplaced pipe or tag breaks the whole thing.

A table generator earns its place because table markup is the most error-prone thing to write by hand. HTML tables need correctly nested table, thead, tbody, tr, th and td elements; Markdown tables need a pipe layout and a separator row that lines up.

Markdown tables in particular fail silently. A missing pipe or a malformed separator produces a paragraph rather than a table, and you only find out after committing — which is why building it visually and exporting is faster than iterating on the syntax.

Four export formats cover the usual destinations: HTML for a page, Markdown for a README or documentation, CSV for a spreadsheet, JSON for code. The same table can be exported to each without rebuilding it.

How to use the Table Generator

  1. Set the dimensions. Choose how many rows and columns you need.
  2. Fill in the cells. Type your content into the grid.
  3. Pick the output format. Choose HTML, Markdown, CSV or JSON.
  4. Copy the result. Take the generated table into your document or code.

Frequently asked questions

Which formats can I export to?

HTML, Markdown, CSV and JSON, all from the same table without rebuilding it.

Why do my hand-written Markdown tables break?

A missing pipe or a malformed separator row makes the table render as a paragraph, and it fails silently.

Is the HTML output semantic?

Yes. It uses properly nested table, thead, tbody, tr, th and td elements.

Can I add rows and columns after starting?

Yes, at any point, and the preview updates as you go.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The generator runs entirely in your browser.
