This tool creates a ZIP file from several selected files, entirely in your browser. Bundling files into one archive makes them easier to email or upload, and because nothing is uploaded the contents stay on your machine.

Creating a ZIP file bundles several files into one and compresses them. The bundling is often the point rather than the compression: a form that accepts a single upload, or an email where six separate attachments are awkward.

How much smaller the archive gets depends entirely on the contents. Text, code, CSV and documents compress well, often by 60 to 80%. Photographs, video and existing archives are already compressed, so zipping them saves almost nothing — the bundling is still useful.

Everything happens in your browser, which is unusual for an online archiver and matters when the files are contracts, financial records or anything else you would rather not hand to a service. ZIP is also universally supported, so any recipient can open the result without extra software.
