About the PDF Unlocker
This tool unlocks a PDF when you already know its password: enter the password once and download a copy that opens freely. It removes protection you can already get past — it does not crack unknown passwords.
Unlock PDF documents you legitimately have the password for but do not want to keep typing — a monthly bank statement that arrives encrypted, an archived contract you need to search, or a payslip that has to be filed somewhere that cannot handle an encrypted attachment.
Supply the current password and the tool writes an unprotected copy. Pages, text, links and images are unchanged; only the encryption layer is removed. The original stays as it is.
This is not a password cracker. Without the correct password the file cannot be opened, and no amount of retrying will change that. Only remove protection from documents you own or are authorised to handle — encryption is often there for a legal or contractual reason.
How to use the PDF Unlocker
- Upload the protected PDF. Drag the encrypted file onto the drop zone or browse for it.
- Enter the current password. Type the password the document already uses. It is needed to open the file before it can be rewritten.
- Remove the protection. Run the tool to produce an unencrypted copy.
- Download. Save the unlocked PDF. It now opens without a prompt.
