An online stopwatch is the fastest option when you are already at a computer. No app to find, no phone to unlock — open the tab and start it.
Lap recording is what makes a stopwatch more useful than a clock. Each lap captures a split without stopping the overall count, which is what you want for timing repeated intervals: workout sets, rehearsal runs, or how long each step of a process actually takes.
The countdown mode covers the other half of the job — cooking, presentations, timed exercises — with an alert when it reaches zero. Keep the tab visible for the most accurate timing, since browsers throttle timers in background tabs to save power.

Frequently asked questions
How precise is the timing?
It displays hundredths of a second, which is more precision than hand-triggered timing can really justify — your reaction time on the start and stop is the larger error by some margin.
How do laps work?
Press lap while the stopwatch runs and the current time is recorded without stopping the clock. Laps are available in stopwatch mode, since they have no meaning counting down.
Will it warn me when the countdown reaches zero?
The display reaches zero and stops; there is no sound or notification. Keep the tab visible if you need to notice the moment it finishes.
Does it keep running if I switch tabs?
Not dependably. Browsers throttle timers in background tabs to save battery, which can make a backgrounded timer drift. For anything that matters, leave the tab in view.
Is my timing data saved?
No. Times and laps exist only while the page is open and are gone on reload — nothing is stored or transmitted.
