About the Meta Tag Generator
This meta tag generator produces the SEO, Open Graph and Twitter Card tags a page needs, with a live preview of the search and social result and length validation against the limits each platform actually applies.
A meta tag generator gets the three overlapping tag sets right at once. The title and description drive the search result, Open Graph tags drive the card on Facebook, LinkedIn and Slack, and Twitter Card tags drive it on X — and each has its own naming and length behaviour.
Length validation is the practical part. Titles are truncated around 60 characters and descriptions around 155 to 160, so anything important has to come first. The generator flags both, which is easier than publishing and finding out from a search result a week later.
One thing worth knowing about images: og:image should be 1200 by 630 pixels, and platforms cache aggressively. A page shared before its og:image was correct may keep showing the wrong card for days, so previewing before the first share is worth the extra minute.

- Add the social values. Set the Open Graph and Twitter Card title, description and image.

Frequently asked questions
Which tags does it produce?
The standard SEO set — title, meta description, canonical, robots, author and keywords — plus Open Graph and Twitter Card tags for social previews, and a theme colour for mobile browser chrome.
Do I need both Open Graph and Twitter tags?
Not always. X falls back to Open Graph when Twitter-specific tags are absent, so the OG set alone usually works. Add the Twitter tags when you want a different image or a specific card type there.
What length should the title and description be?
Roughly 60 characters for a title and 155 for a description, which is what the validation here checks against. Both limits are really measured in pixels, so treat them as guidance and put the important words first.
Does the keywords tag still do anything?
Not for Google, which has ignored it for many years. It is included because some internal search tools and smaller engines still read it, but no ranking depends on it.
Why does my social preview not update after I fix the tags?
Because platforms cache what they scraped first. Use the debugging or card validator tool for the platform in question to force a refresh, or the old image will keep appearing.
